Unrelated to the OP but I found this video and wanted to put it in the other thread that got locked. I figure these threads are similar enough so I will just leave it here.

Let me tell you a story, taurine, and tell me how much of an asshole this cop was.
One day a guy calls in. He is on his way from Colorado to Oklahoma city and has a blow-out about 150 or so miles from his destination. He is out of a job and is on his way to his mothers house to try to find work so his family could move soon after. He has no spare and is out of money. I notify one of the supervisors and he has me call a guy who is coming on shift. I call him and advise of the situation, and he says he would take care of it. He goes on duty 5 minutes later (45 minutes before his shift) and heads up to where the guy is stranded; about a 40 minute drive. He gets there and takes the tire off the vehicle, loads it into his unit and transports the guy and his tire about 40 miles to the nearest town that has a wrecker service. He calls the owner of the wrecker service at his residence (after I hunt down his name and number) and asks if he can open his shop up and fix the tire. The owner does and the cop pays for the new tire. They go back to the vehicle where the cop puts the tire on and gives the guy 50 bucks out of his pocket for gas so the guy can make it to his moms house. So, if all cops are worthless assholes, where does this cop fit in?

Not going to go into a lot of details on the event, but my only real interaction with a cop went as follows:
Cop goes with me into my old apartment to get my belongings, because my ex-room mates had told me they would kill me if I came back (I was accused of stealing $2000 from one of my room mates, later it was found out that my other two room mates had actually stolen the money and convinced the third room mate that it was me). He acts all pissed and huffy like I'm wasting his extremely valuable time. At first, no one was home. As soon as my room mates get to the apartment, the cop immediately goes to hang out in the drive way for no fucking reason, leaving me alone with them as I get my shit. He then comments to my ride that I must be a real asshole cause "his room mates really seemed to hate him." After this incident, I don't really have much respect for police. I hate to have the experiences of one person tarnish my view on a whole bunch of people, but it definitely fucking did. Cops suck at their job worse than anyone else. When I go to McDonalds, someone doesn't usually shit in my burger. When I go to Walmart, I usually don't get a punch in the face with my purchase. When you make contact with a cop, you're most likely going to get fucked over by some middle age ex-bro with an inferiority complex because its been 30 years since he was the captain of his shitty town's football team. For those who are delusional and believe they can actually become a police officer and make a difference in the world, more power to them. But they're probably only 1% of the force.

didn't read most of the thread because it's pretty shitty, but
cops = authority that enforces laws. if they always enforced them consistently, fairly, and politely, there would be less of a problem. however, there are a lot of bad apples. most people's interactions with cops will be getting caught for minor infractions. best case scenario, the cop is polite about it, but you're still left with a sour taste in your mouth over having a ticket or whatever, and your attitude towards the police is probably the same. worst case scenario is the cop's a real asshole and the ordeal leaves you fuming. you just scored a couple ticks higher on your cop hate-o-meter. now, whenever you deal with a cop in the future, you're going to automatically have a pretty poor disposition towards him, even if he's a nice guy. because the cop is a human fucking being, he's going to become frustrated over everyone treating him like shit. cue vicious cycle. good, bad, cops are whatever. they're humans you idiots also the cop in the op is a terrible person and should not be a cop | ||
