I have a friend who plays AP Twisted Fate and he can carry games and have over 300 minion score in like a half hour game. He's absolutely nuts...

Twisted Fate was banned in the world championship match by the american team because euro team was raping face with ashe-tf-shen combo.

If you watch the top rated players in the world, the biggest difference you will see, is the emphasis on having a good jungler, good last hitting of creeps, and lots and lots of wards. Letting the carries take the majority of the creep kills over the support classes is also key.
