And yet Hannity does it every night (and for sure behind the scenes) for his friend DJT and nothing. One news organization has accountability for its journalism and the other does not. Do you not see the difference?

Yeah I don't think the parents have ever been charged in a school shooting before. Police are saying there is quite a bit of evidence to say the parents should have responsibility in this. You still gotta think that in other school shooting cases the parents are likely equally shitty though so I would say its progress.

It's because the only thing to threaten their empire is social media, if we do what is being tossed around (both by facebook and both sides of the goverment and all media corporations) it would greatly stifle the peoples ability to complete with the news media (and established social media companies like facebook/twitter).

And it would also ensure that my facebook investments payed off bigly.

All it would take to shut down the competition is to hire people in china to spam missinformation on it and boom, shut down.

Or maybe just maybe we should have non-profit news (again). The profit motive and incentive for viewership/ad dollars, across the board (some outlets worse than others) is poisoning the public good and dividing this country. Its reinforced by politicians who no longer have to fear oversight by the electorate (gerrymandering, dark money).

The financial incentive in this country is to cater to people's opinions, not give them the truth. That is a death spiral for democracy and the 4th estate.
