ONE guy came up with a fast way to cook a hamburger.... the other guy came up with a way to franchise a resteraunt all over the planet.

Franchises were around long before McDonalds -- it's not like he invented the idea of Franchising....What he did was take a popular fast food place, convince them to franchise, and promising them that quality would not take a hit. There big reservation is they tried franchising and they didn't like that quality would take a hit.

Instead, he clearly had no intention of keeping the quality after the first few restaurants. He hires some finance dude who comes up with the idea on how to turn McDonalds into a successful corporation, and also cut the two other guys out in one swoop.

So took two people's ideas and became "the founder"

And that's America...victory always goes to the scumbag liar at the top.

He then comes in and says, I can do it.

They stay at home and get checks from him and argue with him and try to prevent him from building a multi billon dollar company

he splits away from them and through CONTRACT negotiations (that THEY refused to hire a lawyer to protect themselves in) they came to an agreement where he would own the company.

He. had. every. moral. right. to. own. the. mcdonalds. franchise and corperation.

They had none, beyond being able to say "I can cook a quick hamburger!"

He didn't invent shit! That was my whole damn point. He just is like "I see you guys have a good idea your not using, I'll take that off your hands.."

Guys that invent stuff are almost usually stupid about conventional business type shit. It's just in their personality. They think outside the box...they don't sit around looking up at successful businessmen trying to figure out how to become one at all costs.

this is exceptionally important.

One thing I can tell you is, creative people, are a dime a dozen. What matters is, can you turn their ideas into MONEY, not 'they have ideas'

If you fire a creative team, there is a replacement team waiting to join your company as soon as you pay em, and a replacment team behind them, and behind them, and on and on to infinity.

The world is full of people who have an good idea about how to run the country.

You guys seem to have an enormous respect for people that take money, buy means of production, and profit off those means of production. Like this is all really complicated.

In the words of Bill Gates, business is not complicated.

It's was not all that complicated for me to make some krono off spells on Agnarr, sell them, and then take up pottery.

It's not going to be that hard to sell krono 2 months away from Luclin, and then buy it for 2/3 price (or less) when the bazaar opens.

However, most people don't care about krono and just want to play the game.

And that's how life is. He got to make sure the krono farmers aren't fucking everyone over so that regular people can't have a good time.

you have it backwards, running a successful business is FAR more difficult than creating "cool art" or "figuring out how to cook a hamburger quickly"

Look at facebook, there have been many like it, and many since, but only one was able to turn it into one of the worlds most proffitble corperations.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe fast food burgers would taste a lot better, not have as much junk in them, and treat their employees better if McDonalds didn't exist?

Maybe if there wasn't some ultra power lobby pushing McDonalds in Highschools our kids wouldn't be as fat. Maybe giant international fast food wasn't such a great idea*...maybe just giving people burgers quickly was the good idea from a macro standpoint.
