And yep.. pretty sure hormones helped me quit. Luteal phase (high progestrone) is associated with ability to resist addiction cravings.

That makes sense as progesterone/prolactin have known interactions with the dopamine system

Just got my labs back. Everything is perfect. How does prolactin effect muscles? I've only ever got the high prolactin side effects. Like. Nausea.

Haha yea let me hop right on that hrt

I think I'll take my week off from lifting hundreds of pounds and further destroying my body to do some light training while keeping my caloric/protein intake high. Maybe some more sandbar relaxation and tanning too
I’ve just done cursory glances at weight lifting programs and I’ve definitely seen occasional full week recoveries recommended. I’m sure you could use one. Enjoy the break.

It causes muscle loss typically by lowering testosterone, I don't believe it has a direct influence. prolactin is more of regulatory hormone and neurosteroid in the brain.

Additional fun facts re: prolactin lowering. In men it can eliminate refractory period after orgasm by taking certain prolactin lowering drugs.

Rat studies show cabergoline has a direct inhibitory effect on pituitary lactotroph (prolactin) cells
You hear about porn stars doing 5 scenes a day, and then other porn stars only able to do 2 and 3. You wonder if the 5 scenes a day guys are popping a little cabergoline or Pramipexole on shoot weeks or just naturally have low prolactin.

Of course thats dangerous abuse of a Parkinson's medication, not actual science. But some of the anecdotes report being able to bust multiple shots back to back.

Hey mead can you link that deadlift bench thing again? I couldn’t find it on here and I don’t really know how to use the search function (yes, I’m old)

I ate terribly yesterday. It was an enlightening reminder of how I survived for my first few decades. Poorly. Everything I ate was processed with only the stray, accidental vegetable. I drank Mountain Dew, Pepsi, and Rock Stars. I even spent a summer mostly living off of little caesars’. So last night I may have eaten a lb of chicken tenders covered in bbq and washed it down with a couple energy drinks along with a half pint of mint ice cream. I got it into my head I wanted to gain a couple pounds... gross experience. Bring on the vegetables. Two tomatos and two tbsp hummus for breakfast today. Can of tuna for lunch. Chicken breast, spinach, and potatoes for dinner.
