I don't know how long you're rap sheet is, but if you have a long list of priors a GM is gonna be alot less likely to help a repeat offender. That's pretty much just common sense. I'm sure that delvling your warrior with the expressed purpose of griefing new player's off the box to lower pop didn't help your case.

There really should be a clear rule either way: either the GMs will always ban, track down and return items, or always ignore it and say "tough, you shared your info so deal with it".

Make a clearly defined rule, and either way it will happen less. If ppl know they will get banned & all items will be returned, then what's the point? On the other hand, if stripping is "legal" or a "no csr" situation, then there will be less account info shared, and less toons stripped.

Because the rules are written so that GMs can have it both ways, you might think it helps you do your job better.. But really it just creates more work for the GMs, on an already understaffed project.
We've been pretty consistent as of late. I've more or less handled all the account strip petitions on Red since the Agatha/Lite incident, and while each one gets handled just a little bit differently, for any account strip you can almost guarantee that:

1) Any account that ends up with a stripped item on it will be banned, unless it's given to an unsuspecting third party in which case the item will probably just get deleted.
2)The person who had their shit stripped will probably not get it back. It will likely just sit on the banned accounts.

Tracking down and summoning an entire inventory full of items is a pain in the ass, especially for something you could have (and should have) prevented by not sharing your account information. On the flip side, you're a scumbag if you strip a friend who trusted you with their information, and if you use those items for fun and profit on a main character you can probably kiss that shit goodbye.

As much as I don't like to get in to the whole you should do your job/hobby this way... Pudge is right.. I get the impression gms don't want to touch red because it is a pain in the Ass due to shit like this. So just make it easier for yourself.. make a clear rule. You share your info it's your problem. Deal with it.. but not in this case obv cause terp shud get his shit back. Pretty bad when last week vibrate eats ban for strip but as of right now nothing at least publicly has been done so far to help terp. Going forward I think clear cut rules is the way to make your life easier.. anything vauge and this community will just eat it up and give you a headache
Nothing ever gets done publicly. Not even supposed to talk about bans as per nilbog, and you'd better believe we follow that rule pretty fucking closely when its coming from the project manager.

YES. WE KNOW. ITS NOT FAIR. YOU POST ABOUT IT AT LEAST ONCE A DAY.

Maybe you shouldn't have shared your account information. That way, you wouldn't have to kick and scream about the staff not tracking your stupid fungi getting handed back and forth between you and 50 other people and between all of them and 50 more people to try and find out where the thing actually ended up.

I spent more than enough time looking into your situation and with the amount of sharing you had done with that toon I couldn't even figure out who owned what and where it all went and where it all should be. I'm not the only staff member who came to this conclusion (3 others did before me). You are one preventable fuck-up in a sea of unpreventable fuck-ups, and we did all we could to help you. Accept that and please move on.

<3

and stop sharing your account info, you preventable fuck-ups.

derubael, why not just permaban the people that have the items and resummon them for the person stripped? should be easy to do based on the trade logs from the initial stripping right?

it doesn't seem relevant to have to also delete all the items if they're just getting b&

Then people wouldn't care who they give their info to because the gms will just resummon the stuff. Creating a whole new backlog of petitions.

Tldr
More unnecessary work for gms.

i mean in this specific case where someone shared their info before the GMs set ANY kind of policy, changed their info at least half a dozen times since then, and then still got hacked

seems kind of lame to -1 pop when it's a total bullshit scenario

I'd agree sir but it's hard to prove that you were hacked and everybody would use that reason.

Use stronger passwords.
