155 + 45x3 = 290. I'm only 5'7. People just stare at the gym it's pretty funny.

I lost close to 25 pounds after I broke my leg. Still trying to recover from that shit. I want to gain 10-15 more pounds and I'll be happy. But the leg workouts are really inhibiting my progress. I meet with my ortho surgeon next week. He already gave me the green light to go full throttle as far as gym exercises go but the pain is too much sometimes. We'll see what he says.

Dang man, where in your leg does it cause pain? Do compression leggings or compression braces help at all?? The recovery from a broken leg seems cray..

I wear compression sleeves on both legs and left elbow. It helps with he swelling a lot. Its the tibial plateau and tibilalis anterior muscle that are really fucking me up. I can push through a lot of it but sometimes it’s too much.

So I went on the day hike for the South Sister yesterday (one of the Three Sisters volcanic peaks in Oregon). It's safe to say I was kind of an idiot for not wearing more dynamic hiking gear -- stuff that isn't too hot but can defend against wind chill. Pretty chilly on the summit for what I was wearing.

Other than things went fairly well. 6-7 miles doesn't sound like a lot, but when it's straight up gravel and steep hills it takes awhile.

That view looks amazing. Take some other shots? Super jealous of west coast hiking.

Why is looking homeless a popular millennial appearance

Thoughts and prayers. It does look like a fun hike though!

Our generation cannot afford to be garbed resplendently in only the finest volcano hiking silks as was the lot of our forefathers.

had to pause the 5x5 for awhile because i go to my university gym and its full open to close with freshmen who are motivated/want to increase their chances of getting some strange for the first time in their lives.

instead been doing HIIT in my garage with just dumbells and hitting the bag, really focusing on my foot work to increase that cardio (and also because it's important for stand up). it's a total 180 from only lifting and running but i feel my metabolism increasing. I will say though I got up to about 160 (i'm 5'11") doing the 5x5; but the creator's insisting of NO cardio just doesn't mesh with me because I absolutely love running and high intensity with no rest. I get the endorphin release, i get the metabolism, and the minutia gains that are good for long term health and injury avoidance. however, i'd still like to get bigger and not drop lifting entirely. so we'll see.

I also think i am scared to commit to heavy lifting because I dont know a good regimen that incorporates running. last time I really committed, I got up to 170/175 (lean, biggest i've ever been in my life), but totally BOMBED my run on my PT test for the first time ever because I cut running out and didn't know how to carry my new weight.

Maybe i should just be happy with skinny fit and not worry about getting bigger?

just pick a goal and achieve it. then alternate. do you care more about cardio or gains? do that first for a cycle, then up the other one.
