Again, something people miss is the Taliban was our group of bastard Islamists that reject outsiders to begin with.* Working with them is the norm, the war with them was not. We successfully changed their tune about anti-American terrorism. That's the one accomplishment of this war.

Israel creates a lot of ant-American sentiment. So do drone strikes. But they know there is a way to get on the other side of those drone strikes now. They also care more about their own country than Palestin. The are rife to be bought off. We will save money by paying them and not the DC contractors as much.

*not literally as pointed out below. But its the same damn kinds of guys all over the world. My point is, we always work with a Taliban-like entity in these countries.

It made sense to ally with them to defeat the soviets, because the soviet union was still a credible nuclear threat at the time. The mujahideen\taliban, while awful, were primitive goat farmers. Which is the bigger threat? War is messy and imprecise. That still doesn't excuse biden's handling of the US withdraw. We betrayed and abandoned american citizens, allies like the UK, and sympathetic afghan allies. We pulled our military out literally over a weekend, BEFORE the citizens. What the actual hell?? How can anybody even attempt to defend this? Yes it was going to be chaotic no matter what, but it didn't have to be *this* chaotic and that falls squarely on Biden.

Whatever deals trump negotiated are moot, he's not the commander in chief anymore, biden is. I'm sure trump negotiated those deals expecting to win re-election and thus oversee their execution. He didn't win, so now it's biden's job, and he failed. Simple as that. Accept it, you elected somebody even more incompetent than trump. Cope.

See that's why you're not worth arguing with. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I'm more interested in defending withdraw and cooperation with the Taliban moving foreword than the particular details of how Biden handled it.

But the reason I don't simply join the chorius criticizing Biden is twofold:

1) There was a principal-agent problem. Every time you try to get the military to withdraw, the actors making bank resist it. We have supposedly been making progress this whole damn time...obviously BS. If Biden delayed -- your stupid to think the military wouldn't try to delay him more after that. There may very well be a magic time that would have worked best -- but we or he doesn't know that. He just knows we are wasting money every day and being jerked around by the leadership and contractors out there.

2) The negatives are covered in great deal with the withdraw. Unless of course, the coverage is bad for the military. Like when we killed 10 family members of some civilian in our latest retaliation attack against ISIS terrorists (they say they got them, but wont release the name of who they got -- be skeptical). But we do hear about some guy who gets iced before escaping to the airport, someone missing, etc.

We didn't hear a lot about the deaths of random 20-somethings trickling in over the years. Or the enmity that is created when our troops fuck up something in the fog of war. Every day we stayed in Afghanistan costs something. Because of our deal with the Taliban recently, very few of our military members have died out there in last several months (barring the terrorist attack that happened against both us and the Taliban on the way out). If relations broke down with them so we could stay longer to "ensure our people get out (...?)" who knows what kind of death toll would result in the end.

Another country (amongst others) tries to "change" history. They called China.
Hilarity.

Its the changing of the site i was pointing out numbnuts.
So proud of the accomplishment they wiped it from the record? Why?
Misdirection and stealth. It does not fit with what is required for YOU to read or remember.
Ok. Continue on blindly making excuses for it.
Why hide it?

I don’t need to consult the GOP page to remember things. It was common knowledge which nations the peace agreement was between. In fact I’ve never consulted the GOP page, but I applaud your candor with checking it, although I think you are reading too much into it
