I stopped using bark busters a few years ago. They kept causing my bars to bend. I prefer riding without them. Vines occasionally get in the way and I've had a vine snag my brake a few times, but I still prefer riding without them.

I might cut these ones down though, they are MX bars, and I only ride enduro.

Bark busters can also cause broken wrists if you go over the bar.

were you bending 7/8ths or fatbars? I've never bent a set of 7/8ths with bark busters on, as long as the lower mount was below the crossbar. I'm on my first bike with a set of fatbars now, but I have yet to take a hit that's bent them.

oversized. I've bent maybe 4 sets. Always bent right at the clamp. I just left them off the last time I changed bars and not had any issues riding without them. I crash a lot too. Usually on rocks etc.

Crazy, guess I've just been lucky so far. Next time you need to buy bars, look into the fasst flexx bars. Tried them out on a friends bike, they're good enough for the obscene price, and definitely the route i'm going next bar change.

And on a related note, that looks like an awesome place to ride. What sort of crazy shit do you run into out there in the jungle?
