it surprises me that after trump announced america will "own" gaza, that it didn't trigger a wave of ME countries stepping up and saying, "Uhhh no, you're not doing that, we are"

I think on a scale of 1-10, trumps latest announcements have been on the 1000th scale. So it takes people days, weeks, even months to process what he just said.

In the US though, because we wouldn't be building in the Empty Quarter but in National Parks, it would probably work pretty well.

There's very little room for eminent domain counterclaims when it's federal land to begin with.

I would move to a federal city if they built one nearby. Probably a better deal to pay rent to America than some rando land owning parasite class property 'owner'.
