The most overrated and over-dignified political analyst of our times, Charles Krauthammer, has weeks to live. For some reason I never felt a lot of animosity toward the guy. Despite having spouted out some crazy rhetoric about Obama (and being a generic never-Obama style hack).

Krauthammer always right about Obama foreign policy not making sense and Obama being overrated. He just never got close to articulating why. He was right about him being a narcissist -- but he never told you a huge portion of famous people (like him) usually are.

You could always get the problems from Krauthammer -- just never the solutions. I don't know what old realist talking head they'll bring on to replace him, but I'm sure I'll like him (or especially, her) less. And for that reason I think it would be best is Krauthammer didn't die, and just stayed perpetually on death's door for 30 more years or so.

It occurs to me that much of the Republican base really wants socialism without all the pro-immigration and white guilt shit. They just can't come right out and accept it. It's like how Gorbachev couldn't fully admit that the Russian reform movement really wanted capitalism -- not reformed communist rule. This same dynamic is present with conservatives in this country.

Edit: This Poll shows most people don't even support the party platform they vote for. They are just lapping up the cool-aid about how bad the other side is.

The survey found that just 41 percent of Democratic voters are voting for Democratic candidates because of their stand on issues, while 54 percent are doing so because they hate President Trump more. Among Republicans, the breakdown is similar: 44 percent of Republicans back their party because of the issues, while 52 percent oppose Democrats more.
