Djarns is an excellent item but really if you don't farm it yourself (which is what you should do if you wear one) you are paying serious tax
A 5/55 ring costs 1k Buy a Djarns for 17.5 and you are paying 16.5k for 25 hp and like 6 or 8ac idk depends on class You can get those stats in other slots for way less plat

But when your other slots are filled out, you can only upgrade by grabbing items like this. And those who are at the point of needing these top end items have the money to pay for them, creating the cost. It's hard to believe that someone has to explain this 20 years on

Yes well it doesn't need explanation, the price of Djarns instantly dropped 10k at the server merge because over there people weren't price gouging their own guildies like on Green.
Mith 2 Hander was going for 30k on Green until there were no more people to pay that much. It was going for 8-10k on Teal before the merge. Now it's selling around 15k. Just because people "can afford" to pay that much doesn't make it a good deal. People tax the shit out of items to sell to their own guildies because they are so ~~~~~cOmPeTiTiVe~~~~~ that they charge each other 2k for root nets, a required item for them. Let's not help guildies out or anything, they gotta buy in like it's fucking Amway. I'm sure people would love to -not- pay 15k for 25hp but hey, their own guildies are fucking them and then everyone else says "well great, I'll sell for that much too" but then the market of people paying that premium shrinks, the item becomes more abundant, and plat inflates. 17.5k for 25hp is a lot of fucking money. It's BiS tax. Period. Not a great value at all

BIS items always have a significant increase in price even if the upgrade gap is relatively less than lower tier items.
Its still an upgrade, BIS, and its more than just the stats. The cool looking icon and feeling of having it also matters to some. Also raw HP is an important stat and only on so many pieces. Its the min max for CH. But is it worth 22k? eh /shrug. Depends on opinion.

The term "good deal" is completely subjective and has no impact on anything. If people don't think they are have a good deal, it's up to them to find a better deal.

Those people are fringe cases and not representative.
But we do have a ton of platflation in the economy so its not unusual for top end specialty items to massively inflate. Just one quirk of us all being lemmings following the wiki BiS.
