In general, a successful RMT transaction involving two consensual adults where one gives the other real life currency in exchange for a R99 character does absolutely nothing to harm this server. In fact I don't recall people complaining about the server being ruined when you could trade blue plat for an account for example. The net effect is the same, the character belongs to someone else.

As to people getting burned by the Cheeseburger, if you don't learn from history you're doomed to repeat it.
