Eq is just bad in general, u got 2 choices rly stare at walls on blue for 19 hours straight to get 1.5% of a lvl or maybe get ganked on red while you get multiple lvls in a few hours.

The problem with Red is that when you actually have a life, it's very nice to be able to AFK and not worry about some nerd murdering your character.

yes camping out takes 30 seconds. that's too nerdy to do on red though.

Sounds like a pretty bad RPG, to be honest. I mean, character development(through skills, levels, gear, etc) is a pillar of the genre. I wouldn't play an RPG where the characters are homogenized to such a degree. I also don't require an even playing field.

Honestly, if you hate gear imbalance so much, why wouldn't you just play Street Fighter for your PvP fix?

You must have never played DAoC, probably the best pvp in a game ive played. Skill, traits, and gear all mattered in pvp, and it was much harder to twink characters in low levels because they gear would actually become damaged and break if you were to low. Although, AoE mez was the bane of my existence there. Ill never forget those nights defending Hadrian's Wall.

In EQ, atleast sub 50 levels, there is nothing you can do against a twink character no matter how much skill you have. If youre a caster its far worse because a spell will never land. I have found that casters get the shortest end of the stick because of the way MR is set up and those pumices :/

Don't think it's that bad honestly. I do suggest joining a guild as soon as possible and making groups not sitting there lfg.

A cleric can go from 1-60 easily

Thunderdome probably a good bet for leveling/forming groups at the moment.
