Haidt, like most lefties, entirely omits the concept of prudence in his moral framework.
Prudence is the moral that is used to temper/balance other morals. Without prudence, bravery become foolhardiness, good intentions become oppressive instruments etc. The fact that the left doesn't even consider prudence to exist in the moral framework (and a lot of people on the right as well) is very telling as to why anyone with any modicum of centrality is left scratching their heads in what-the-fuck-dome as the left and right play tug of war into extremism on both sides of the political aisle. This is my judgement on haidt's "The Righteous Mind"; it glaringly overlooks the value of prudence. | ||

need to legalize stuff so ppl who cant do weed have options too
not fair that weed is legal but opium flowers are not weed is just another material alternative 'not internal' force tho and has it's own spirit and soul (and it's more dangerous than ppl think) just like corn and flour and sugar tobacco oil roundup our machines will feed gold, arsenic and mercury into the world to feed the production of weed over food grown at home now i'm stressing about people again i'm not unilaterally opposed to weed, i think it would be better to spend less resources on incarcerating and hunting ppl over it, but it wont magically solve the problems we face | ||
