![]() Rogean/Nilbog,
Some details or explanation of this issue? It's cost me maybe 20 hours total lost time, at least a few percent xp across many chars, etc. Would love to know what the issue was and an explanation of the fix, as technical or not as you like. Was it related to zone size? Could it return with zones like WW, EW in velious? Did you find any links to ae kiting desyncing? (ive not yet had a chance to go run through a kite to see if i go to 8k ms lag and LD since this fix). Was the fix related solely to TT, or a broader issue?

There were also some potential issues with npc animations, that might have contributed to clients ability to keep up. The fix? Dont send more data to the client than it needs. Your ae kiting throws an aspect into it, i didnt think of. Let me know how that goes. I think i can fix that too if there are problems. H

![]() Thanks Haynar. As a note, if I type your name on iPhone it auto corrects to gay bar.
Anyway, Kiting has the same effect. Notable zones = plane of fear, OT, BW, Skyfire, Dreadlands. If I go in view range of a kite, I desync and can usually zone and after 30s to 5mins I actually start zoning, as do some other people. If a kite runs over me, it's night night usually. Could you look into if it's a fix that could be extended to these areas? As a note, I can AE pull in chardok, 135mobs with no problemo and no desync.

![]() Desyncing occuring in plane of hate now.
Could you look in to that being the same possible problem? Occurs when im there at any time after about 30 seconds, textbook identical to traks teeth however wireshark doesnt seem to solve it.

![]() zone/log into TT
cast a spell (non casters migth be able to use a clicky like jboots or gobbie earring, not sure) wait and see if cast bar pops back or for bard if you can sing a different song if you cant, camp or /q (might require a restart of eq if it crashes or doesnt pop you to character select) repeat until the spell works without any delays test it a few times to be sure of stability i've had to do this a few times. but once you got a proper stable connection it seems to remain that wai until you zone. sometimes you might have to camp and crash 4 or 5 times

![]() This zone is my bane. I'm running EQ on linux (plain install, no launchers, custom UIs etc) using a what I imagine is a much different setup then others here, however I get exactly the same problem that others have detailed in this thread. The idea my router knows when I zone into TT and lags only then is just absurd. Internet speed below.
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Getting into TT is quite the ordeal. I zone in, wait for the lag to hit a few seconds later, then do "/who wizard all" for a few minutes. If I continue to get results back immediately I know I'm good and can run to seb, if it lags or simply doesn't return results at all I know I need to /q out and try again. Often I'll be retrying 10+ times before I get it to work or just give up. Doing a "/who wizard" always returns immediately even when desynced.

![]() Ok, so I went back to TT today after installing WinEQ to see if it made any difference.
Still got an instant 3.6k ping followed by desync and the 10kping LD. However, it seems if I keep zoning in/out or relogging after being kicked off the server I can sometimes, with some luck, hold a steady 360ms ping - which is a normal ping for me. I'm now sat in TT with 346ms ping and no spikes, completely playable, it took me an hour of zoning/disconnects, but so long as I don't zone out again, it seems like I am ok. It's still ridiculous that so many people, and it really isn't a 'small handful' as the devs seem to imply, suffer from this and it hasn't been investigated/fixed. But at least now I can somewhat get it to work, it means a trip to seb might take 1-3hours, where as it should take 10minutes, but at least it's possible to get there now.

![]() I reinstalled EQ - turned all graphics options either off or on minimum settings - used ethernet as opposed to wireless - 7k ping, can't zone out.
I tried running the computer through a US VPN, no difference (clutching at straws I know). What information do the devs need to get involved? I'm more than willing to allow remote access to my comp for you guys to take a look and hopefully narrow the problem down. If reproducing the problem is truly the issue.
