It is correct pre luclin. When Luclin was released there were far more icons available to use but up until that point there was only around 23 icons to use and in SoV they added more colored backgrounds to the spellgems to denote PBAE, targeted AE, etc rather than just red and yellow that you see in classic. All you are using is a preset type of icon for a specific timeframe in game. When I approached the devs about the icons they had at that time so I could fix the gems game and other things, I suggested fixing the gems to cover SoV now so that it would be easier to implement all 'classic' spells through SoV later.

The result was a custom gem layout using a custom spells_us.txt file to link the spells to the right icon. Having to work around the Titanium system was a bit of a headache but I feel I came up with the best solution overall. I added a few different icon sets (WoW, classic, luclin, etc) but they all essentially are limited to 23 reoccurring icons but with 7 different background colors. The Buff and spellbook icons were the same all through classic and SoV and only changed in Luclin.

If, IF this server ever went past SoV and had Luclin,PoP or any other expansion added then we could go back to using the standard spell layout used on live today (and which was included in the Titanium boxset). Classic (classic - Kunark) used 1 tga file for spells, SoV added more and Luclin added more on top of that. The number of icons remained the same until GoD was released in 2004 and has remained the same on live ever since.

Exclamation Issues using SoF UI on SoF Client

Savok, thank you so much for all the great work you've done with the UI's for both Titanium and SOF client users. I have no problem getting the Titanium UI's you've made working on the Titanium Client, but I seem to be having issues getting the SoF Velious UI you've made to work on my SoF client. Here's a screenshot of what happens to Hotbar1 (which is the only visible issue I see atm)

Any suggestions for how to fix it? Dragging to resize doesn't seem to work... I can move these hotbars but not resize them.

Thank you!

If i don't use the Velious UI is it safe to delete it from my UIFiles folder? or is it needed for something else. I'm trying to save space wherever I can.

The files in each ui folder are only used for that ui, you can delete the ones you don't use and you'll be fine. I would recommend keeping things like the the default one however and just deleting custom ones that are extra.

Anyone have the old ghetto UI that has all of the icons in fixed locations and the entire screen is a reduced sized to fit in between all of the icons?

That's the one I always liked.

Old spell icons are almost painfully well made compared to the new cheapo spell icons.
