rofl yea ok ok yea haha... I mean like - what I am trying to say is I wish people would take a step back when someone called them a nazi and be like, whoah what did I deserve to be called a nazi?! Insted of being all HOW DARE YOU!

If someone name calls you something you gotta be like whoah what did I do?

like I am seriously apologetic for being garish.. And I can admit I am, and I see why I am wrong for it. But I ask to not let that get in teh way of the discussion and I really want people to realise its not cool to use hate speach.

LIke u know how like a terrible christian band is like trying to be cool and hip to speak to a new demographic?

My OP was like me being a terrible forumposter - trying to be hip and cool to speak to the demographic.

It failed as bad as christian hiphop videos fail.

*EDIT* Also, just also - I really want you loramin (and everyone else discussing my tact) to think hard about this question. If someone is part of a minority and when they do speak up and you think its OK to tell them to change the way they speak up for any reason - are you really being fair?
Dude, I'm on your side. I agree that this forum shouldn't have hate speech on it (except RnF of course, which is meant to be an "anything goes" forum).

My point was just that you should consider what you're trying to accomplish. If your goal is to rant at people then rant away. But if your goal is to convince people not to use offensive language, you're going to have more success by treating the people you're trying to convince as allies rather than as adversaries.

hey bud, why would you think I didn't think you were on my side or that I didn't consider what you said, considering that I apologized like 9 times since you posted for my garrish forum conversational skills?

Now can you please consider, considering something I asked you to consider please? Instead of assuming me asking you to consider something was me saying that you are my enemy and must be destroyed? I mean literately I'm asking you to 'think hard' in the block of text you Quoted - which literally mans to consider something.

If someone is part of a minority and when they do speak up and you think its OK to tell them to change the way they speak up for any reason - are you really being fair? are you not just enabling a new way to silence the minority from being able to speak out? You don't know them, what they've gone through, or what state they are in. By changing the subject to their personal style or grace asking them to conform once again to a model you see fit, you are doing the same as someone who is telling them shut up or sit down?. I want you to seriously think about that - it may not be your intent but it is a very real consequence. It matters not for how they speak but only what it is they have to say.
Ok, I /con-ed it for 3.5 seconds. No it's not fair to tell anyone, minority or not, to shut up or speak differently. But when someone is using offensive language I do think it's ok to explain to them why that language is offensive and let them decide what language to use. I also think it's ok for minorities to explain me (or anyone else) how the language I'm using is offensive.
