Instances would be the single best thing ever implemented on blue if they ever were. The toxic neckbeard tryhards would likely quit. Which would be a huge win for the server, and guilds could schedule raids around life instead of the other way around. However the owners of the project are stubbornly clinging to the idea of "competition" that for the most part didn't exist on most servers back in classic and certainly in no form that's anywhere close to recognizable to what we have on blue.

Exclusive lock era circa 2017 was still competitive and nowhere near as toxic as what we have now. It avoided probably 80% of the petitions you see now (stalling, training). And it deincentivized one guild monopoly which is what happened on green.

The point of the window was to make it miserable for people to sit on the spawn and wait for it, so that they, you know, stop sitting on the spawn to wait for it. It's your own fault if you're miserable doing that. Half working as intended.
