Do you say the same thing when speaking about Nazi Germany's concentration camps?
We're not as evil as Hitler. Now that's a childish argument.

What makes his concentration camps worse than North Korea's?

Mick, again you go full retard into left vs. right, why?

Maybe global instability is caused by a duplicitous games of gotchya. We condemn the actions of smaller nations, and use sanctions and nation building initiatives that produce similar atrocities.

Are you saying the means justify the ends? The means are shitty and the ends are even shittier.

Most of the world didn't even know about the concentration camps until Germany started to retreat. Action was taken because Hitler took several Napoleonic bites out of Europe.

Apples and space oranges.

I'm not talking about then....I'm talking about now.

If someone were discussing the Holocaust, you wouldn't say "Well, we've done war crimes too." would you?

What makes North Korea so different than Nazi Germany?

compared to NK's famine in the 90's , which was manipulated to reduce the population and eliminate the lower classes. THey had the money and the ability to stop it, but they chose isolationaism that resulted in no help. The belife by schollars is that it was on purpose to eliminate their weakest citizens. It is no secret they practice eugenics: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cleanest_Race

Out of a total population of approximately 22 million, somewhere between 240,000 and 3,500,000 North Koreans died from starvation or hunger-related illnesses, with the deaths peaking in 1997. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korean_famine

The prison camp system alone currently houses somewhere between 100-250,000 prisoners.

Now these numbers, are all GUESSES... they are conservative too. Accounts from North Korean expats is that it is far worse.

The North Koreans are close to, if not have exceeded the number of people killed during the Holocaust.

Who knows, they may have killed double, maybe 3 times as many people.

We may never know.

Remember, in germany we had NO clue they were exterminating jews until we invaded. We may invade and find out there are millions upon millions of executions we havent even accounted for.

There is no room for peace with this regime, but we'll see if its possible!

I think NK may even be worse, just to jump in here.

I just dont see a peaceful solution with NK I mean how are you supposed to just forgive the prison camps and extermination of undesirables during the famine?

If that regime is able to stay in power, after generations of war crimes, just so we can avoid a war? That seems crazy to me.
We don't enforce morality around the world. That is something we tell gullible dumbasses at home to rally war support. As long as there is nothing in it for us, we won't do anything with North Korea.

There is some noise about how bad they are ATM to prevent any withdraw of security forces and military exercises around Korea. Defense contractors profit off this stuff and would rather go to war than withdraw. However, the prospect of war with North Korea upsets elites that don't have stakes in defense contracting. Hence, why nothing has changed all this time.

States do what is in there self interest -- that is not really debated by anyone who knows anything about security studies. What is debatable is the purpose of the state. Some have this naive "were all in it together prospective" -- which is encouraged by our media. Others understand the state's purpose is to serve the ruling class.

There is confusion about Korea because its essentially warhawk elites vs non-military industrial elites atm. From a self interest standpoint, war with Korea is counter-productive unless you profit off war.
