THey had the money and the ability to stop it, but they chose isolationaism that resulted in no help. The belife by schollars is that it was on purpose to eliminate their weakest citizens. Out of a total population of approximately 22 million, somewhere between 240,000 and 3,500,000 North Koreans died from starvation or hunger-related illnesses, with the deaths peaking in 1997.

The prison camp system alone currently houses somewhere between 100-250,000 prisoners.
Now these numbers, are all GUESSES... they are conservative too. Accounts from North Korean expats is that it is far worse.
The North Koreans are close to, if not have exceeded the number of people killed during the Holocaust.
Who knows, they may have killed double, maybe 3 times as many people.
We may never know.
Remember, in germany we had NO clue they were exterminating jews until we invaded. We may invade and find out there are millions upon millions of executions we havent even accounted for.
There is no room for peace with this regime, but we'll see if its possible!
