Meanwhile, we all aspire to play characters with names like "Storm Spirit", "Batrider" and "Witch Doctor".

Sadly Riot know how to draw and use more than teh MS paint, even if they are swiping inspiration from other animation characters they're doing better than DOTA2's oddball creations.

If DOTA is to succeed it needs to rebuild its animations and playable characters from the ground up...harsh yet true facts.

You understand that a lot of the core staff at Riot worked/created/contributed to DotA 1 right ? Why the fuck wouldn't you port YOUR ideas to YOUR game. rofl. dum.

Pendragon owned a website that hosted a lot of Dotas strategy guides (think Mobafire) and then took it down and said COME PLAY LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

None of the people in Riot were important to Dota1 except maybe guinsoo
