I don't think anyone is running around with your items ATM. Those accounts should all be locked. Going to try and play catch up this weekend on all the strips that were done this last week or so.

Looks like another case of staff arbitrarily deciding who they should or shouldnt punish over an unwritten rule they made up.

broad my ass, even if u got an F in reading comprehension the only interpretation of the current rules that can be extracted is that GM will not intervene if you share account info
Really? You should read them again:

Quote:
9. You may not defraud other players.

Fraud is defined as falsely representing one's intentions to make a gain at another's expense. Examples of this activity include, but are not limited to, using deception to deprive another player of items, slandering another player or impersonating them with the intention of causing harm to that player's reputation, or falsely representing one's identity in order to gain access to another player's account or account information.

Fraud in all transactions between players may result in disciplinary action when confirmed by a P99CSR.

This is not permission to not watch out for yourself during interactions with players. Players may still scam or defraud you on Project 1999. It is your responsibility to protect yourself. The player who scammed you may be subject to disciplinary action, but there is no guarantee you will get your items or PP back. It is in your best interest to be wary of other players.

You are responsible for the people you let onto your account. Disciplinary action may be enacted upon your account even if you yourself were not responsible for any rule breaking. Do not share account info if you are not ready to deal with the consequences of someone else's actions.
Pretty sure this clearly spells out that fucking with someone else's account in any way falls under "fraud" and may end up getting you banned. Everyone involved in the last couple strips have had the exact same procedure used on them. All accounts with items banned (locked) until further review. That's it. That's literally the only step that has been taken. I made Exed and Gaffin talk for a bit so I could see if Gaffin is worth keeping around or if he's just going to do the same old bullshit again. This is the same procedure I've done for nearly every strip on Red99 after the Agatha/lite debacle. Sounds pretty consistent to me.

But let's not bother with all these "facts" and "truth". It's a lot harder to bitch when you have a GM doing what he's supposed to be doing.

tl;dr kindly fuck-off until you contribute something positive to the community. Once you've done that, continue to do positive things. Help the box grow. If you're not going to do that then get the fuck out because we don't want you here.

YES. WE KNOW. ITS NOT FAIR. YOU POST ABOUT IT AT LEAST ONCE A DAY.

Maybe you shouldn't have shared your account information. That way, you wouldn't have to kick and scream about the staff not tracking your stupid fungi getting handed back and forth between you and 50 other people and between all of them and 50 more people to try and find out where the thing actually ended up.

I spent more than enough time looking into your situation and with the amount of sharing you had done with that toon I couldn't even figure out who owned what and where it all went and where it all should be. I'm not the only staff member who came to this conclusion (3 others did before me). You are one preventable fuck-up in a sea of unpreventable fuck-ups, and we did all we could to help you. Accept that and please move on.

Moral of the story is that if you do enough back and forth character swapping with items you've stolen from someone than you can get away with it?

I kind of have trouble accepting what you're saying because in my opinion the response that I got was that I was being accused of lying about the situation before an investigation was really done. I posted dozens of screenshots showing the items being on my characters at different periods in the characters development and provided as much circumstantial proof as I could manage. In the end you based your decision on a story you got from the perpetrator of the crime. I really find that curious since Lite admitted to doing it on the forum.

Who got banned/suspended? Me. I really appreciate a lot of the work you do for red, and you've helped me out with a few other situations, but this is never going to sit well with me because I just don't feel like it was handled with consistency.

Deru stop being tender with these people, its the reason why the server sucks, cuz the assholes have a stranglehold on the server. Here Mostbitter is implying you banned him for no reason or for bringing up an incident. Just clean house, stop wasting even one minute with trading accounts shenanigans, stop playing babysitter. Its not good for you or the server. Forum ban em all. Clean the forums of this shit.

If you for example ban Smedy for stripping Terp's account, then you validate Terp trading accounts in a way. Since Smedy is getting griefed back, that will only motivate people to keep trading accounts because theres a punishment at the other end possible if you strip an account. If you just stop even looking at trading account issues, the idea will settle in that you shouldnt be exchanging account info. Continuing to give attention to this only insures you some headache-inducing workload down the line. Your time IMO would be better spent as a GM organizing fun stuff for non-toxic fresh blood (and for you) on the server.

Account sharing is not supposed to happen, youre not supposed to do it. Once that sets in as an idea, why should GMs be involved in any way in resolving stuff that is associated with that?

An analogy would be someone dropping your coke down the toilet and you call the cops like wtf, this guy just dropped all my coke down the toilet, is there anything you could do about this? Cops say we might or might not reinstate your cocaine sir, but i wouldnt hold my breath for it, though flushing coke down the toilet clearly constitute you being victimized, and well be trying to track that coke down NYC's sewer network.

For the record i think the drug war is bullshit, but you get the point
