i mean, its pretty disheartening when you hear Sirken confirm on stream that he knows certain people box, but they "pass the test" or something, so its cool

not very motivating to know "cheating is ok if you are good enough at it", i'd be good at it if i bothered to set up MQ but hey..

(in case any staff is wondering why pop isn't skyrocketing, this might be a nice one to start with)

I agree it is disappointing that they get a pass, but I applaud Sirken's consistency an application of the law. If there is a prescribed test (or set of tests), then that test should be universally applied. If it fails to catch sufficient boxers, then perhaps it should be made more rigorous. It should however never be made so difficult that there is even a chance a legitimate pair of players might fail it. The tests/suspensions do their job though by minimizing boxing. Sure there are some who still do, but as they say, laws just keep the honest man honest.

/boggle?
I thought it was, "Good people do not need laws to act responsibly, while bad ones will find a way around them" = Plato

Do you mean to suggest that in the absence of a "no boxing" rule, there would be no additional boxers?

Not @ all. How can you get rid of something that will never go away though?

People will always try to screw someone else over, game the system, cheat on their taxes, etc. Obviously not everyone is like this, but enough to clearly have an issue or problem. If it is a rampant thing, perhaps a /MOTD = Attention all players if you see or suspect any cheating promptly /report said issues to X. Y, Z, asap or whatever to further push the community to "police itself" also. I do not know what they use to catch said people but I'd wager it would catch them ... eventually

You can't ^^ and that is the point of the idiom that I referenced ^^ Laws/rules only work as a deterrent on ordinary people, who might otherwise falter in there absence. Criminals will behave as such regardless ^^ The view of criminality is congruent with the Plato quote, but the problem with the Plato quote is that it contrasts apples with oranges and does not address bananas while appearing to be binary and suggesting law is impotent. I'd suspect something was lost in translation there.
