They call it harm reduction, but it’s getting pretty fucked up and close to enabling. Its already fucked up that places like LA let homeless people slowly kill themselves with ILLEGAL drugs on the street and not arrest them (I’m assuming as a form of population control), or try to force them into drug treatment programs against their will

Needle exchanges are different because when you push a dirty needle containing MRSA into your vein that MRSA goes directly into your blood and will usually destroy a random part of your heart

I’ve in my job seen numerous people who had to have open heart surgery and a plastic aorta made for them because they injected with a dirty needle and MRSA literally ate away their heart valve. That was probably a $250,000+ surgery all on the government’s dime

So needle exchanges I can somewhat understand. But “boo hoo they might cut their dirty lips with their pipe, let’s give them a clean pipe” is a load of shit, I’m sorry
