Tranquil Staff Ban..Sickens me

Just seems dumb that you guys ruin a new player's experience for 30k plat.

I'm just saying, if this was EQLive in 2000 and a Tranquil Staff dropped and he did the same thing, he wouldn't have been banned for it - the community needs to police itself and work things out together. In 2000, he would've been blacklisted and it would've been one of those 'oh well' things - what good is a monk that has a Tranquil staff and a tarnished reputation?

To be honest, I'm quite sad at what EQ has devolved into. You guys are more concerned about yourselves and that's not classic. The raid scene here is not classic. Something needs to be done.

Yeah we don't have any say. But I'm for commuting the sentence ASAP. The ban seems over the top.

Its possible not enough time was given to hand over the staff, and should be given the benefit of the doubt imo.

You can't tell me live on stream had absolutely nothing to do with the speed of the ban and possibly contributed to some hasty decisions for "effect" either.

If you look at the OPs profile you will see he joined in 2011. He is not new. Which means he knew better.

Your point about the GMs on live circa 2000 not getting involved is probably true, but what of it? One of the things many people hated about live was that bad deeds often went unpunished. In this situation the item was returned to its rightful owner and the offending party was given a 2 week time out. What's not to like about that?

Blaming the victim for not being more generous with a ninja looter and a liar makes no sense.

Just because you had a different experience in 2000 doesn't mean it was correct. People on this server have evolved and come to the realization that claiming need on an item for yourself is selfish. NBG works in close friend / guild type situations. In a random group setting, if people want to be friendly and pass on an item to give to someone else, or win the item and give to that person, that's great, I'm all for it. But, by no means are they entitled to that item. This guy clearly lacks self control, communication skills, and feels self entitled. Could it have been handled differently? Maybe. With his two week suspension he can contemplate his actions and how he handed the situation, and will most likely handle situations like this differently in the future.

actual in classic he would have just gotten the staff. at least on druzzil ro almost every camp was NBG. here the default is greed before all. OP should have known this.

This is so shitty. I can say that I have seen the OP countless times powerleveling hordes of noobs in CB every time I saw him logged on or giving away what items or plat he had. My experience on live on the 2 servers I played on was always NBG it sux but this community is terrible and everyone is always supposed be to liek EVERQUEST IS ABOUT COMMUNITY but then actions are louder than those bullshit words. Epic rogue needs to take a T staff from a monk. Plz, just shows how trashy that person must be in RL. To the OP, sorry but this stupid rogue is representative of the majority of the population here.
