i don't get why people don't take the chance of being offended to think about how it is they got there, and whether or not what they are saying is bettering all of society or just their own personal views which they feel should be imposed.

It makes sense when you think about how new the idea of courting a woman is to our species. For many years the initiation of sex was a man clubbing a woman and dragging her by her hair to a cave where the act happens. Any women that didn't like that would avoid it, and in turn avoid any sort of chance at passing their genes on. Any women who didn't like rape were weeded out of the gene pool long ago.
