That's because we handle our business internally instead of bringing it to a public space.

Also stop with the "we're better than that" attitude. You're not. You guys had people chain attacking us, trying to jump the gun on start times. Trying to gain a PVP advantage by running up, collectively not individually, the spires instead of coming at us straight on. On top of this, your guild leader was present and partaking. She came into our vent throwing a fit like a child while members like Auvdar repeatedly would run in and nuke us while buffing.

Get off your high horses and realize you're no different, we're just better.
You misinterpret what I mean by "better than that". The intention was that we should be above this childish behavior that went on, not that we have any moral or ethical standards higher than others. If you read my post I also said that I am disappointed in any Divinity that did participate in any of that bullshit.

I was not there for the end, I left before the qeynos-> felwithe race, so I won't comment on anything that happened after that specifically.

But can we not agree that fairplay does not include griefing?

I'll agree with you and also add that I wasn't part of the corpse camping. I spent a lot of my time between fights trying to get people rezzes to speed up the waiting process and drag Auvdar's dumbass away from us. It went both ways.

However, I don't condone the attitude I've seen from many of the Div posters which is that we're some big bad monster who ruin your fun. EQ had winners and losers, that's what made it unique and to come here spewing incorrect BS when you lose is childish behavior.

But couldn't it just as likely be informative? a warning?

As if to say: Don't go into the arena if IB is there b/c they will go FFA and ruin the fun you had planned? I doubt Daydrem endeavored to go in there and PvP against IB or anybody else. As far as i know it was a divinity-only event that was planned 2 days ago over vent and she had no idea that anybody would be there other than a few select divinity people. IB was there and changed the plans, pulled a few whangus moves. That's it.

This nonsense about PvPing and who killed who is a bunch of crap, especially for those who have actually played real PvP-focused games. EQ was never meant for PvP and never will be. thus to say you killed someone, ganked or 1v1, is pointless, so stop bragging about it. It doesn't and nor will it mean squat. I still have UO installed and if you want some PvP i'll direct you to some great UO-Emu servers where it's still lively and ruthless as ever. Hell, even WoW has some decent PvP. Go there...

Often that is the case. There's always the heat of the moment and things going wrong, get said, and things that could be handled better. I disagree with many of the posters who think IB ruins the server, competition is what EQ is all about -- without something to strive for we might as well go play WoW.

Anyway, I don't see corpse camping or jumping people who are obviously not involved as competition and I would hope that the top guilds on the server wouldn't see the competition in that either. I've enjoyed the last few weeks of racing to mobs, actually getting timers called and general friendly competition between the guilds. Misunderstandings happen, and I'm sure neither parties hands are clean.

However, we aren't enemies, as much as the tons of trolls here would like us to be. Rivals perhaps, competitors, but not enemies.

The way I see it is Divinity was like your kid brother...they broke some rules, killed 3 total IB members all night, talked some smack, instigated and then Big brother(IB) got annoyed and pounded Divinity.

All the complaining about how emotionally damaging the experience was for them and how it ruined the Divinity pvp event that only IB went to... is entertaining though for people to post on @ work.

whatever, I don't care. i haven't been on for 2 days and you're missing my point. He's got a one-sided view on the matter, and i proposed an alternative.

I'm done posting, it's childish and stupid. Perhaps something we can all agree on

Skope, they were in the arena with us. Daydrem proposed 10v10 or 15v15 which sort of happened. Both sides had plenty of time to set up, we got to hear the tale of Dellagramaticus etc. Then Div set sneaked up the top of a spire in sent in the pets, so we fought.

I'm not here bragging or anything just saying what happened. Over the next battles Div had members begin to literally zerg us. They had naked casters running in to attack our members in the Arena. What do you expect to happen?

I'm with logik though, we weren't enemies. On an individual level many of us are still friends and act as such.

This thread is pretty hilarious.

Also, why is the response to someone having more time to play than you "Get a life"? I am just curious, cuz for me, having a lot of time to do leisurely things like get my video game on, would be a much happier life to live than having to work 87 hours a week to come home to my 13 screaming brats and annoying nagging wife that never shuts the fuck up when I want to play Everquest... Just saying. You guys go on with your badass lives. Of course I'm sure a good number of the people on this server are limited in their EQ time being busy sleeping with the 7 model girlfriends they are juggling, driving their Ferraris, and being the center of all social interaction in their hometown.
If you really think somebody needs to be some badass banging 7 model girlfriends while driving their Ferrari to call this shit out for being so embarrasingly trivial and pathetic, then you really are too far gone and need to see a therapist immediately.
