My entire point- the one that you missed in the first place because you were so anxious to use that wicked "freedumb of speech" line that you cooked up, dreaming of the showers of LOLs and /HIGHFIVES that the internet would rain down upon you for your razor sharp wit and originality- is that accusations of "indifference" or "complacency" based on the fact that a person makes a joke are insufficient and often fucking bullshit. I used the personal example of the fact that I am far from indifferent- I go out of my way to stop rape and violence against women every chance I get, and if I ever have a son you bet your ass I'm raising him to do the same- but because I don't think rape jokes are inherently, universally "wrong," people will accuse me of being "on the side of the rapists." And that is false.

I guess what I'm saying is, I think it's pathetic that people who have never done anything in their lives to help rape survivors or protect women from violence can sit on the internet and point fingers and J'ACCUSE!! other people who are probably more involved than they are because they "don't like that joke."
