They’d give me the controller they had been throwing against the wall when they lost and their mom wasn’t home

That's what I'd call autofire enabled.

Never had a console game per se but the Sega sc3000 was a real computer with a game cartridge slot. I only ever used it to learn basic programming. Creating DnD npc generation and random npc names. Learnt alot.
