Open carry allowed too. I kinda wanted to go get my own just for the novelty and walk around all cool like cuz guns coo and i feel coo cuz i hav gun which i'll totally use because coo.

How is it a stretch? Why would teachers be required to wear guns if not to confront the bad guys? Is it just for show? how would that fix it?

Oh yes the kid thats going to mass murder his schoolmates needs to be treated like a criminal for sure. Thats not ok, he/she needs to be vigorously disarmed

I already walk around with my 12' samurai sword and I think they would conflict fashionwise.

Ya it's super lax. You don't need any sort of license, just a hunting license if you plan on killing deer. Can just walk right in and buy whatever is available.
Benefit of location I guess, its that way with hunting rifles/shotguns here but not hand guns which require a background check. Got involved when I did my CWP course, got a Walther PPS

The reason to not take away everyone's weapons is because it gives too much power to the state. You want to empower the citizens and build a culture of responsibility for ones own self
