You may have beefs, and may have justification for your anger, but....

I know Hastley is old school...played at a high level. I don't know about the rest but I will say not everyone being powerleveled is a can't play their class. Sometimes really skilled players just get plvled up so they can take part in better stuff.

I also know sometimes good players have bad days. Maybe it's lag, we all have bad lag days, well I do anyway... sometimes it's rl distractions, or who knows.

Some group mixes just don't work, for character reasons, lvl reasons, class reasons, player reasons... zone reasons.. all sorts of reasons. Sometimes it just doesn't gel.

Also sometimes it can be rough, I remember I was playing at the top end raid level, and had 0 plat. I bvusted my ass to 50 and into fear, and I had only what I could get myself. I didn't see 1k plat till a friend gave it to me after I had played eq for 6 months. I was good enough to pull far, and hate and that sufficed. I died alot anyway, dinging 49-50 12 times a night pulling those zones, spending days rebolstering 50. Heck on bad fear breaks we would lose 4 levels sometimes... we had no clerics on the raid. Sometimes you just don't have the gear... yet. It isn't easy for everyone to have the best gear...and bettr gear makes for better players to an extent. Warriors have it rough with aggro, I remember even up to LDON...and not everyone gets the high end proc wpns. Plus other players in group can help with it, casters can pace dps, healers can pace heals, puller can modify...

I like to think I can work with any group I am in, and use my skillset to make it better. Some groups fail huge, and the amount of people who can't play eq because they suck are minimal. There are those you group with who can handle chaos with ease and play at a much higher level... and often you can tell who they are because things simply go smoother.

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing themselves.

ergh I meant to say something along the lines of, sometimes you need gear to do certain things...just because you don't have the gear doesn't mean you suck at the class... A lot of the players who are so uber in eq? It is because they have more TIME to play eq then others. Not always skill....

Quitis, I am so glad you posted this rant because it essentially proves what I was saying to some fellow players last night — you are insanely arrogant and full of yourself for no reason whatsoever.

I joined "your" castle entrance in Mistmoore yesterday, only to see you bossing everybody around and constantly trying to prove that you, oh Lord Quitis, are the master of all things EverQuest and worthy of worship. I was biting my tongue for the short time you were infecting the group with your nonsense.

Then, out of the blue, you say "well, replacement's here g'bye!" and you disbanded, apparently convinced you were above and beyond the XP of that camp (by the way, how was the XP when you were LFG the next 3-4 hours?). I guess I was supposed to be impressed that you bothered to wait until a replacement arrived, but beyond Hastley you didn't tell anyone else in the group that you were even planning to leave. And you know what? I would've easily shrugged off your hasty departure if I hadn't already been convinced that you're an arrogant prick.

So what did I do? I send you a /tell and told you that your behavior was ridiculous and that you were suffering from delusions of grandeur. How did you react? By spamming Hastley with God-knows-what, calling me a faggot, blah blah blah. What did Hastley do? He semi-defended you, saying that it was only necessary for he and you to know what was going on with group replacements. You're both wrong on that front by the way, it's common courtesy to actually communicate with a group and let them know what's going on. People who try to elevate themselves above others in the group just plain suck.

So after all this, what do I see? A rant where you insult Hastley for something I'll even admit he does very well -- wheel 'n deal with replacements. Who the hell are you? Find your OWN damn replacement, especially if you're going to throw Hastley under the bus for doing something that's not even required of him.

Your arrogance has indeed come back to bite you in the ass, and I suspect a lot more people are going to get the same sour taste I did.

Yeah Nocte invited my SK Seekqual to the group. I go LD for like 30-45 seconds, come back and my spot is filled by some random warrior. Major doucher

heh I had a period of being full of myself too... early eq... now though, you would hope even those that came from hardcore raid guilds back to p1999 would understand this is a different place... and we all have to recreate this community on the server, and recreate our own reputations and stories...

I believe I was in this group at some point or another, and it was good stuff. Went to go take a piss break, and came back in nek. Guess group had to evac out from a train, and all I saw in group chat was something about Nocte. Hastley is pretty darn good at finding replacements, which is above and beyond what most people would do. Enchanter may have seemed bossy, but what he was saying in group at the time was legitimate advice. Guess I'm glad I hit the bar before drama ensued.

P.S. Nocte stop trolling in our mumble. Everyone thinks your a dbag, and lol @ you telling me posting in this forum about a jackass does nothing beneficial.

I read Hastley's response and it all sounded pretty reasonable to me. Heck I even got invited into a group by Hastley (he seems like good peeps to me) that had some red cons in it, but you know what, it was 100% more experience than I was getting standing around in Rivervale. And if I didn't like it no one was stopping me from forming my own.

Like he said, this isn't live, there aren't 1500-2000 active players on this server. It isn't always easy to find replacements, heck its amazing you can even find A replacement on an emu servers at certain hours of the day.

I've only grouped w/ Quitis once, briefly. He didn't refer to my by name at all. I was "Gnome" to him, and nothing more.
