Listen. Before blue 99, before VZTZ there was -

Custom Legit. and that Pvp server had its share of issues but it was 100% funner than this busted ass server.

Project 1999 doesn't want to create a Memorial to the Classic EQ experience. They want to cherrypick and troll their community by releasing a buggy broken server with the titanium client.

I am not gonna tell ya'll to do this. But it was better before we started trying to roll the clock back to 99.

We should have stuck with the best that the Titanium EMU had to offer and cleaned up the database. We should have fine tuned the few issues that made pvp feel broken on EMU which were mostly broken emu issues.

EMU has caught up a long way on the main fork from .7 to .8 or w/e the release was back in the day. I pine for a good pure FFA pvp server without the shennanigains that are being pulled by "hard fact classic coding".

I feel like the project 1999 team doesn't really care about classic EQ. If they were passionate and loved the game they wouldn't butcher it more and more with every update.

Titanium is where EQ lies and its better than old march 99 release and its better than EQ Mac which has no pvp.

Don't tell me to go play live. I'm gonna sit here and tell this community (the majority of EMU pvpers) what is wrong and let you all have the freedom to decide to troll me or nod silently and agree.

P.S. Rogean does lots of stuff, but its definitely not treat our beloved EQ with the respect she deserves.

You will never have the source or the data from 1999 in its accuracy. Either come to a compromise or realize that 2007 was better than 1999 and that classic zones and itemization was the bomb. + a few updates to the old game. Mostly ones that would have gone in in 1999 but never had time to get implemented. Or that they were implemented wrong and rushed to compete with wow. Rather than being implemented in a good way (the LoY era newb armor quests) which.. the final weapon quest was good, but the rest were very wow-ish collect drops. At least they were itemized right. <<<< That is just one example, its not a point of contention.

Spells and game mechanics like melee, mitigation, resists shouldnt have been broken from day 1 and should have been fixed as soon as they ever were broken.

EQ has the potential to shard off into the MUD like communities it deserved. But the majority of players just nuthug around here.

And thanks for that information mtb_tripper, I think it started more than 50+ years ago with teh fuckin flouride.

I blame the community for jumping ship to blue 99 and red 99 and VZ/TZ and LOZ respectively rather than sticking with the original project and giving them our support. They were doing it right and were LEGIT.
