This means stuff that got fixed in Kunark and Velious may get fixed now, get over it, it was done for a good reason.
Good, then once they fix the class-based XP penalties by removing them, we'll be all square. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Ohhhhh wait, no, that would make it easier for players... can't put that change in yet! :P

You could get away from mobs by jump running as well. You didn't have to only strafe run. I wish I had a scanner still so I could scan the page in the collectors edition manual that told people to do that.

The reason turning and running in a straight line wouldn't work before wasn't because mobs were faster, it was because mobs ran at the same speed. running without jumping or strafing would make it so that the distance the mob kept from you was the same so you'd still get hit unless you jumped a couple times or strafed. Also, once you DID gain that distance on the mob you kept that distance, it didn't catch back up with you.

Like I said in the first post I made here, I know WHY it is like the way it is, but it is obviously intentional and not like it was in classic.

Because of how the code has changed in the client and seemingly everywhere else, this server will never be 1999. It can be close, but never spot on. The trick is weighing what non-classic changes should be put in.

Would you consider the mob run speed changes necessary?
I thought I was crazy, but that's definitely why I haven't been able to flee from mobs by jumping on my newbie characters...Makes a lot of sense now.

Certain functions are embedded into the client and therefore NOT going to be touched by P99 devs or anyone with half a brain that doesn't want SoE lawers up their ass. I don't know if this is one but here's what I do know:

You sir, are a dickbag.

I cant imagine why even the biggest classic-nazi want item links to be removed...

if verant had the option and the idea they would probably have implemented them from the beginning.

is implemented a word? lol

Thing is, server is labeled "Classic progression" so it could be argued that its the progression that is supposed to be classic (slow) not the rest. But confusion comes when devs say that they are trying to get as close as classic as possible.

I never actually figured out what was the aim of the server, its as vague as the naming policy.
