This casting wreaks of the film execs going with "star power". They seems to be using Affleck like Robert Downey is to Avengers. I also think there would be less uproar if the casting process was more apparent(like maybe soandso auditioned, or was considered) instead of 1 announcement that's that.

I dont have a problem with it. I think Affleck could pull it off. He seemed to get a bad rep when the whole jennifer lopez thing was going on. I think Millburn hit the nail on the head. Ledger surprised us all. And I think Affleck is a better actor than HL was, so I am not dismayed.

I like Michael Keaton. I thought he was a surprisingly good Batman and Bruce Wayne.

But Ben Affleck? What the fuck. I've been waiting for a Superman-Batman movie for years, and it looks like they're already fucking it up.

(who knows though, maybe we will be pleasantly surprised, like I was with Michael Keaton)
I agree, Michael Keaton did end up being a pretty good batman, although I am glad Ben Affleck ended up over here because I was also waiting on the remake of The Stand (watched the made for tv adaptation and found it pretty amusing, Gary Sinese being the protagonist with the guy from coach as a co star and all)[You must be logged in to view images. *edit* and I found it kind of odd he ended up being one of the main people working on the new adaptation of The Stand

*edit edit* lol @ Matt Damon being Robin, idk maybe I'm a few years out from thinking this is a good match, but it took me a couple of Batman movies to get used to Christian Bale as well.

Not to derail, but, HOW can they be remaking "The Stand"? That book is almost War and Peace in length, with so many damn characters. They gotta be making it for TV again because the amount of stuff they'd have to cut to make it into a feature length movie is insane. And releasing it in parts won't work because only the most hardcore of King fans would be able to keep with the releases. AND what if it flops, and they stop at one movie (which would be, hopefully, at LEAST 1/4th of the story), it'd piss fans off.

They'll do it the same way they make any book into a movie these days: split it up into as many as humanly possible and milk the shit out of it for years. The hobbit is a smaller book than ANY of the books from the rings trilogy, but is multiple movies BY ITSELF. That's the fad now..

Lol I thought the same thing (just one movie?!) not sure but I think I read somewhere that it would run at least four hours in a sitting lol.. Even the made for tv series seemed condensed and that was broken down into parts, for a 1000+ page book it doesnt seem very doable in one feature film haha

*edit* oops, guess the book is 823 pages and the uncut is 1152

Commence Ben Affleck/Batman talk again:

So is this movie sposed to be Batman v Superman? Haven't read up on it much

The unabridged is better. ANd the original TV series was four 2-hour episodes. I can understand them trying to turn that into a bunch of movies, but because of how the pacing is, I don't see that working out. (Mainly: I doubt it'd survive to the 3rd movie/part of the story.)

BACK ON TRACK...

Yeah, it's Batman vs. Superman. The most recent Superman cast is reprising their roles. The only big news is Affleck.

I personally didn't care for Christian Bayle's acting in The Dark Knight.

Seemed like an emotionless douche.

Or maybe that's just the persona batman plays.
