My take is if you are going to do say Trade skills well Cha is well worth it. But to the average person I think there are better stats to use.

For tradeskills, certainly true, but even for the average person, at high levels you'll be selling a lot of vendor trash gems and jewelry you find on monsters. The difference from high CHA will certainly add up. It's very easy to get a Crude Stein and/or some cheap jewelcrafted gear that gives huge +CHA for vendoring stuff.

Vendor-prices-wise, CHA isn't a worthwhile stat to invest in at character creation. If you can get some gear to bump it up, might as well because it could add up over time. Everybody gotta vendor loot, right? There is, however, a price cap at 104 CHA.

At 200 CHA, with Marfen Binkdirple Warmly to me (such a sweetheart!), he asks 5039PP, 9GP, 9SP, and 9CP for a Bag of the Tinkerers, asks 54PP, 4GP, 3SP, and 1CP for a fine steel longsword, and 2GP, 9SP, and 1CP for crystalized sulfur.

At 143 CHA (halfway between max and min for me), he offers the same prices.

At 104 CHA, same prices. . .

At 102 CHA, he wants 5054PP, 3GP, 8SP, and 4CP for the bag, 54PP, 5GP, 8SP, and 7CP for the fine steel longsword, and 2GP, 9SP, and 1CP for the sulfur.

At 85 CHA, unbuffed, totally de-geared, he is asking 5177PP, 5GP, 4SP, and 9CP for the bag, 55PP, 9GP, 1SP, and 7CP for a fine steel longsword, and for the crystalized sulfur, he wants 2GP, 9SP, and 9CP.

The big take away here is that your bag space is better off used for cash loot than CHA gear.

Have you tested to see if the cap is the same for apprehensive vendors? I recall reading somewhere that if your faction standing with a vendor is below indifferent, there is a higher charisma value to get the merchant's best price (for that level of faction).

What do I look like? Someone who schlums around where she's not wanted? Well, maybe just this once =)

I fiddled around with my CHA at Krak Windchaser and found the capping point to be 132 CHA for Apprehensive vendors.
