Don't troll. We've made big strides on Red across the board in all categories, one of which is population. We're regularly seeing well over 200 nightly and growing.

We (the staff and the players) have put a lot of effort into making Red99 an enjoyable place to play again - don't discredit that work by trolling the box in server chat =X.

I've been thinking about doing that. When I'm medding after a quad I'll tab out to another game, but when I come back the EQ window will be black. Alt-tab will maximize and correct the blackness, but it's rolling the dice because probably 75% of the time the game will crash. I'm guessing I can switch back and forth between red and blue without the blackout.

I would say your observation would be closer to truth if you were referring to red's population about 3 months earlier, when I started. At that time the population was literally around 70-80 during peak weekday hours and as a new player I really wondered if I could actually have fun on a server with sub 100 population. No one was in the newbie zones (OBVIOUSLY), but there was some sort of hope that maybe at higher level (or at a later time with higher population) I would be able to enjoy red.

Anyway, the population has tripled, *nearly quadrupled* since I started playing. During peak hours I am seeing always 200+, but more recently 240-250 people. Compared to the 70-80 at peak times when I started (and questioned if I would have any lasting interest in) the server, the red server is flourishing. And I have to say that this is LARGELY because of the most recent patch that was released on red, of which the massive exp/grouping ++bonus overhaul was a large component.

In short, it is disrespectful to the staff to make comments like this when they are the ones expending so much effort to bring fun and longevity to the red server. Your commentary comes off as some mixture of bitter and jealousy, made all the more obvious since it is completely lacking in fact, both in a spot and longitudinal sense. Trust me, I understand you intended hyperbole but your sentiments (words quoted) are practically memetic within the blue community, and really capture a sort of sibling-jealousy you guys get when you see GMs giving love to their OTHER server. Or when you see fellow blewbs dipping their foot in that nasty, nasty abomination of a server -- RED. It's okay guys, different strokes for different folks.

But again, it's really disrespectful to the GM staff. They have done some amazing work since I started playing here, and I can only hope that things continue on as is.

exactly what I've been doing and honestly im enjoying red. I quit back in early 2010 on red and came back and its much better now.

If any new red players manage to trade their blue plat for red and want some decent starter JC'ed items I'll absolutely make them up for cheap. Usually on weekends as Euro/US play times tend to clash otherwise [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
