I think the reason 25 Nihilum sat in VP with Druushk / Silvering / Xygoz and only managed to take down Xygoz, is due to the fact that they didn't have the right people for the kill.

I believe at one point their only bard was Miley... who deleveled himself to 55 from 60.. (LOL), then Maca entered the zone a little later who I don't believe even has an Epic.
