Same reason I think they should get rid of welfare(in its current state). No free handouts! Make em dig ditches, pickup litter, and sweep streets.

ok i guess its not such a bad thing [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

now that i think about it, i have been guilty of such actions too.. i tend to give away(or sell) raw-hide/bronze/ringmail to players instead of vendoring.

still, i dont regret bringing attention to this idea..

I agree with what Kaev said. I'm still pretty new, so I don't have tons of good stuff, but having to work for something and finally gaining it is the biggest reason I play. I like being able to find quests that give upgrades, or farm for my own. Small amounts of help at the beginning is really great, but it can be overdone.

that 16 hour grind comment is something I was doing myself back in 2000. Staying up all night, being sleep as hell the next day at highschool. I had the luxury of that lol.
With a full time job, kiddos, and a girl......I find it much harder to secure that 16 hour camp.

I find it hugely awesome that the kindness of some can make things more enjoyable to a few.

And I've handed out my fair share of stuff to people that need it. Why wouldn't I?

I think being offered help at a lower level, tends to be returned 200% when it's you that can afford to do the offering.

Giving your hand-downs to people isn't anything like welfare. And complaining about it is being anti-freedom.

It's pretty pointless to turn down a free starter weapon, when its common to have a party member in your newbie exp group with an MQ'd epic.

The game is not going to be that much easier if you have a Sainy's Claw at orc hill instead of a tarnished short sword.

Like many times before i helped out a lowbie several weeks ago....a shammy in qeynos hills while i was camping the millers. After buffing him for several lvls over several days and passing on an insurmountable amount of sweet sweet knowledge along to him, he was around lvl 8, i gave him a Totemic Helm.

In the next day or 2 i saw that he made it to lvl 13...never saw him again.

Did i do bad?

Both get something for nothing.... Both don't have to "labor" to get handouts... Do I have to go on?

Just like the Koch brothers - the ultra rich on this server think they own everything. Inequality is what is killing the fun on this server.

They put a fungi and an epic on a lvl 1 and then go around disrupting entire zones with their plvling or boxed cleric. It's ridiculous and not fun.

I have never had a bad encounter with another player that is just starting out - all of my negative encounters have been with players who KS you with their epic and then laugh at you in tells because of your shitty gear.

The scourge of the server are the twinks. Get Velious out please.
