Anyways, I personally much prefer this old poison making resource page from live that's still around: Kikys Poisonous Pages
That is an excellent resource. Thank you Cecily [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Hah. i guess i missed that. But my question was, what are the first few poisons people tend to make? dd/dot ones are the most useful i'd assume.

Warlords Rage is my personal theoretical favorite. It's a massive str buff ( like 70) with some AC, but it deals 70 dd and 600 DoT in 30 seconds. I used that in the rogue BoTB first round and very nearly killed a person who played a rogue on red.

As far as practical poisons go, the root poison has a 50% slow in it. If you really wanted to solo, that would be the ideal one to go with.

The problem is the expense (6-10k pp to get 250 with high dex gear) and massive inventory crowding that poison making entails. It's really not a viable thing to use in PvE. Your role in a group is to deal a lot of damage, not to have utility. You deal a lot of damage for free, and no one would notice your awesome utility. They WOULD you sitting down for 10 seconds (apply poison timer) while they are fighting the mob and think you're an awful rogue, however.

poisons could be situationally useful in PVE still, no? not for EXP grinding but if you're about to take on a boss mob? i.e. if you're in sebilis crypt just bust out poison for Emperor kills?

The higher end resistance debuff poison might be good for those situations. I have no idea on the land rate on those though. Poison activates on your first melee attack, which would concern me about aggro using high level DDs or debuffs.

Something I've always meant to do, but haven't tried out was to see if the resist debuff lands on dragons. -30 resist to everything but poison sounds kinda neat.

If you wanna level poison making, without doing the tedious farming, here's the trivial progression I used to get to 250 poison making using all vendor bought ingredients. I DID make 200 or so sealed vials with pottery because the cost becomes brutal at that point.

Spine Break 32, Gindlin Toxfodder in WK.
Athropic Sap 98, Gindlin Toxfodder in WK.
Aching Blood 108, Gindlin Toxfodder in WK.
Calcium Rot 172, Ennixy Frennor in Steamfont. *does not sell vials or suspension*
Spirit of Sloth 250, Brak Daggermist in FV.

Make sure you have as much possible dex as you can. That'll increase your odds of a skill up on a combine failure. Good luck to anyone who pursues poison making!

The only poison I ever knew Rogues to use on high end NPC's was the Dex reducer to help with Procs/Rampage/Flurry
