As a guide, I actually have the power to help people when something goes wrong; unsticking, resurrections, advice, etc. It's a good feeling to know I've helped people keep happily playing the game they love so much. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Im not sure its server-specific, but if it is, they have some good pathing going on here. The aggro through walls on the TZ/VZ server was just crap-tastic.

Amen to this. I played in beta and can vouch, the work the devs have done on pathing in the last year is massive. Gukb/Mistmoore/CT used to be absolutely wild hehe.

My husband and I are having a blast! Thank you to everyone who had a part in making this server a reality, and who work to keep it going so smoothly! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

So far a group of about 7 friends from "the old days" are back together again, levelling and re-living some of our best memories. I have found that most people are generous with their time, their mana and I've even been given some hand-me-down gear from random strangers!

This is the first server to really capture that original EQ feel for me. I played on the progression server when it first came out and leveled up a rogue. It felt nothing like the original game with all the hackers/cheaters warping everywhere.

There were so many non-classic elements the game became more about finding them and exploiting them since the items were way better than anything you could get in the old world. I saw a raid of more than 50 people in oasis killing the caimans to do a task based quest in oasis and blew past everyone in levels.

So with that said, I really appreciate the work the devs have put into this server. I might not agree with every change they make, but I love that they are passionate enough about the server to put in even unpopular changes. Keep up the great work!

1. Hardmode. I played a lot of other games since Y2k and I can honestly say that getting to max lvl and raiding in those games sucked. It's ezmode in MMO's nowadays, the raiders have absolutely no skill in many cases, or no endurance to suffer through death and wipes. Classic hardmode made everyone work a bit more just to make max lvl (and on Rallos it was even harder lol). This meant a greater amount of skilled raiders, and a better overall experience.

By keeping as faithful as possible to the original, P99 has kept what was great about the game, and made the best part of the game come alive, good people who know how to play. The flakes and slackers usually fall by the wayside much faster.

2. It's essentially free, I've donated before but really, there's no demand to do so. I've played for far more than my donation money would get me in any other game.

3. Rogean Broadcasts, "If I get one more tell about corpses I'm gonna start booting you fuckers." Pure awesomeness! You almost never see this anywhere else. lmao.

4. GM/Guide help: In classic I got my surname around the time I dinged 22. Here I got it in under an hour.

You guys are awesome, and I thank you for the hard work you do. And the patience that it clearly requires [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
