I'm pretty sure the necromancer lich spells modify vision in some way. I know there's a change on my Iksar when I click it off. Not sure what specifically.

When the darkness fix doesn't affect my UI, text chat, or other parts of my computer when I'm tabbed out, then cool beans. That isn't the case right now - it's a global computer gamma adjustment which is something EQ never did before.
