Do people have meaningful fights over PVE content closer to 60? Coming from Eve the PVP here seems pointless, and compared to WoW it's much less fluid due to ooc recovery. I guess it's still a step up from GM enforced camps and wait-lists - seriously wtf?

The only PVP I've seen is the aforementioned fungii, which certainly qualifies as griefing if not also PVP.

Not really. Sometimes people rally to gank a group in seb/hs but not because they actually want to take over their camp. Most pvp tend to occur around kc/dl zoneline but it's not over any content.

Though I have to say I haven't really played in the past year but I can't imagine much has changed.

Immoral is fine, but rational would be nice; I like my game theory.

Baugi, after lvl 40 or so it changes a bit, you get to fight other grps for camps on occassion, those fungi twinks are still pretty powerful but in this malo/tash era they are not nearly the threat they used to be.

Sometimes if you're really lucky you might get a legit camp fight in MM but it's rare and any YT goin of there or in lfay will summon the knights templar. It's a mix bag, somedays in Suave we run em out, sometimes they get us. Just gotta roll with it.

There is something to be said about server/eq knowledge though. If you know how to fish, you'll catch em. I get a lot of tells on Romeo from other wizards asking how I get so many kills, it's pretty simple, you just have to know what the players in your range are likely to do. Know the hotspots and put in the time, teach a man to fish ect. ect.

See the guy who started this thread for example. My first GF, which I met online (never did that happen again!) who came from a mentally unstable family had an older brother who was suicidal and had a wide range of mental and social issues. She tried to get him to play WoW and his version of playing wow was sitting in lower level open pvp zones killing random mobs until players showed up and proceeded with ganking them over and over.

Now it was no secret he had major inadequacies in his life, which he tried to make up for in game because he was a loser that no one liked and the world frequently shat on him because of how he treated other people.

The guy defending people that need to twink out characters in BIS dropables, which they cannot attain at that level range for the characters they are twinking, with OOR healers/buffers to shit on new people in rags is most likely one of those losers who face inadequacies in real life.

Perhaps it is because the OP has some inadequacies of his own IRL, such as the lack of hair on his scalp?

TLDR: People that feel the need to constantly shit on players who have a massive gear/item/level disadvantage have mental issues, because this isn't actual PVP.
Every time you post I only think of energy drinks.

At higher levels its more of a skirmish that breaks out in certain PVP hot spots.

You can certainly take over camps but it requires a degree of patience, as most people will log their character out in between respawns. An example is the EoE camp in Droga.

PVP also happens over the fabled Sea Fury Cash Cows in OOT.

MASS PVP over raid objectives have not really happened in a while. These were more prevalent due to a shift in paradigm or guild power. Think of it as voting, when a president has been involved in a scandal, they will put another leader up for election. Unfortunately Azrael have not elected a new leader and are a largely unpopular guild for that reason.
