Halfling warrior? pffffft

Troll SK or bust. ...though needing ant leg potions to survive without a shaman is sad...

If I wasn't going troll I'd probably go halfling for speed of leveling, and racial hide/sneak is cool I suppose for warrior.

Paladins are also good tanks and good in PVP duo/teams with stun to stop gate and other ass saving spells pesky casters use...

Playing a warrior feels a lot like playing a rogue with shitty dps and no backstab, hide, or sneak... I would definitely not encourage someone fresh to server to roll as a tank, and least of all a warrior. That's a tough tough start... I did it on live in 99 and though the game was nigh impossible until I rolled another class as an alt and was like OMG easy mode. lol

Yeah my only point was if you want constant groups and fast leveling the OP might be well served to NOT roll a druid/necro like everyone else from blue has recently. Can tell you how tired I am of aggro kiting for groups because we have a full group of rogues, Druids, shaman, clerics, etc but no tanks.

eh agro kiting can be a lot faster and more fun than tank and spank anyways... removes wasted slot for tank/heals and replaces with dps haha

Just add a wizard with click stick debuff for perma agro, snare, and enjoy fastest non AE xp group formation possible.

Still though, naked Halfling warrior gaining levels like crazy with no gear to prevent being dominated in pvp, and no good gear for tanking makes hard work for those unskilled ungeared priests and dps you mentioned too haha

Honestly... wizard with click stick best tank around for a lot of content if you get other AE classes you can quad like crazy, or even just melee dps.. no need for heals. Had an insane group like that the other night, fastest xp I've had outside of swarming in a long time... doing 100mob/hour wrecking yeti caves.

People forget how minor tank stats were before end-game Velious. Combined with P99's broken AC, it makes twinking your warrior for tanking pretty pointless unless you can afford a fungi. You can also get a solid set of aggro weapons for ~300-400p.

I'm not debating that aggro kiting can be efficient. I did it Friday night for approx 6 hours without issue as a druid using flame lick and snare. But later we added a untwinked monk and between mage ds, druid heals and regen literally doubled our exp solely from camping inside yeti caves instead of making long pulls outside.

Not to mention, with a tank it's much easier to take advantage of dungeons/high exp modifier zones.

oh we were agro kiting the entire caves and outside, full clear nonstop for like 3 hours... it was nuts, like I said, about 100 kill spe rhour. FAT xp. No tank, pure DPS lol

Yes tanks and dungeons are great... still unless he REALLY enjoys playing warrior, it's probably literally the worst possible first class on red99. Most gear dependent pve and pvp and least versatile class in game. But a lot of fun if you're into it and get gear. People suggest not starting rogue but that's a myth. Rogue needs a piercer with decent damage in mainhand and then nothing else matters, as far as leveling/pve goes til 50+. Gearing isn't all that bad either honestly, and you can xp in zones where items drop like bloodstain mantle etc. to gear as you grind. Saving 3-400p for a spine is cheap too and plenty of dps til 50+
