You seem to have lost your hope in a mire of cynicism Harnold. Take this lifeline of acknowledged futility and let go... ^^

None of that shit existed in 1999 stop kidding yourselves. We didn't AOE down fear, bard kite, recharge items, MQ, track or batphone.
Batphones were less efficient, but we certainly did them.
People were already MQing jboots when I joined in Sep 1999.
And yes, bard kiting was around.

Was the Jboots quest even in in Sept. 99? See I got mine from Najena, cuz old school. I played a lot (A LOT), an embarrassing amount even, and I never saw any of this shit going on or being talked about. Our guilds batphone was MIRC. Bards kited, but not to the scale they do here.

Optional Patch

- A new zone, The Temple of Solusek Ro, is now available via the
optional patch.

General Enhancements
- As mentioned on Saturday, Rubicite armor will no longer spawn. The
new class specific quests to obtain the new armor are now in for each
class that could wear Rubicite.
- Journeyman's Boots will no longer spawn where they did but rather are
the products of a quest.

My guild never used any of that even during PoP, and we beat the whole expansion just using in game text. I did use a telephone to call a few guildies just to chat though ... ;-)

We might schedule a special raid but 98% of the time we just showed up for schedule raid days/times and got reports on what was up. I think the serious raiders were more spread out on the various servers though so even though server populations were higher than now on P99 it's a different, far less sophisticated, playerbase.
