![]() You don't have to zone to update faction changes.

![]() I think factions for quests is broken on this server, at 50 even if the captain is KoS he will still accepts scalps. Same with all quest mobs I've encountered - will even take your shit as they're beating on you.

![]() Just fyi for others trying to grind this faction. It took about 500 kills of gnolls and orcs for my Troll SK to get to Threatening. At this point a wolfform was enough to take me to Indifferent for the gnoll scalp hand-ins.
The orc scalp hand-ins (and I believe most quests on this server) can be done at any faction, which may be a bug. The gnoll scalp quest was specifically fixed to require Indifferent in the past month or two. Handing in all the scalps from this many kills made me max ally in HighPass and in East/West Freeport. Now, the reason this takes longer than it did in classic (which I recall as taking about half as long) appears to be discussed in another post by rogean or nilbog (which I can't find atm!). He said there that most mobs in the game just give a faction bump of 1. So to answer my earlier question, 'a gnoll champion' will give the same bump as 'a gnoll'. In classic, I believe that it would be something more like champion==3, brawler==2, plain ol' gnoll==1. This is only a guess though and I have no evidence :/ It may even be that most nameds here give only a faction bump of 1. So killing one of the Shralok brothers may give you the same bump (1) as killing a mere 'an orc acolyte' (1). In classic I would think (again a guess) that your basic named mob would be somewhere between 10 and 25. It *was* mentioned in this other thread that there are some obvious exceptions for obvious major named mobs (and things like Guards I would think). There are some of these that have been specially coded to give a much bigger faction hit since they were well known to do so in Classic. These I think are 100 or much more. Certain Raid mobs are probably 500+. Okay - speculation mode off - if someone finds the post referenced above, please link it. My search fu is terrible today.

![]() I heard the faction scale is off. Killing that many gnolls should at least get you to apprehensive I think.
Also, Ran Flamespinner is on the wrong faction. My troll SK is amiable to the guards, but Ran is threatening. He also will not attack the goblins. In classic Ran was on guard faction and would attack the goblins. | ||

![]() Sorry to resurrect an otherwise dead thread, but I was told that FD was recently changed so that it no longer works on quest turn-ins? I wanted to make sure before attempting so as to avoid the npc possibly eating my quest item. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
