EQ Live Progression server?

I'll probably check it out but I'll freely admit I hate the look the zones they redid.. Except maybe JUST NRO cause that ain't too back but the rest they can keep... ESPECIALLY Freeport... My god... I don't know whose idea it was to make Freeport a giant maze on live but he was either stupid or drunk when they proposed it

Thats the reason I wouldnt be able to play live Progression server.

Too much of the actual progression is lost in time or updates it just wouldnt feel the same.

Yes I agree, the only changes I do not like are that you don't lose EXP, items do not stay on the body. Oh gosh and Freeport revamp is ridiculous. Other than that, it does somewhat interest me.

The progression server also has new monk / mage pet changes....

So at level 50, monks have 20/26 fists :|

And the worse thing is people will be boxing like crazy.

And little to no GM support. On their last progression server apparently it was wild training and perma camped EVERYTHING. Raid mobs would die before they graphically loaded from all the boxing and lack of any rules.

It is going to be ugly I think haha. From what I have been reading....if you think late game p1999 is bad....it is nothing compared to live progression servers.

They're shooting for a june release according to the recent producer's letter. It may not be the end all be all, but i'll be checking it out for sure.

it looks interesting, but several major problems i would see;

• zero GM support. no matter what happens, a GM won't appear.
• no limit on boxing (already talk of 1 person boxing 6 mage groups)
• no raid rules

This all leads to (from what i gather on the forums) a really toxic raid scene on the current progression server. Yes, we poopsock; but they poopsock, train and kill steal. And there does seem to be much more RMT and hacking.

It would be interesting playing, but unless you are in the hardcore category, then most likely you will see zero high end raiding content (even less than us casuals see here on p1999)
