Why I *will* be playing on Ragefire

my last experiance on a live proression sever was this:

1. oh man to get started from the begining so excited! wait what is this revamped zone?
2. hey that guy has full paneel steel armor already what? how?
3. Gonner tells you: "lawl they just zerged naggy and vox with naked toons" You tell Gonner: "wtf its been 2 days"
4. kunark is open already, and im level 20
5. velloius is live now, they just beat all the bosses, its been like 5 days
6. uninstall

Sorry to get negative, but when I saw the magelos of the people they killed naggy with, more than half of them almost completely naked, I realised that live EQ is not for people who 'love' classic eq. Live eq is for people that like to DOMINATE eq.. The botb guild will have 6+ boxes for every warm body they have on a raid.. Its just not my kind of eq, and hey even I enjoy red, where people are wearing bronze armor at level 55+ Or blue where a warrior is in full colbolt and a fungi at level 1

That and everyone will be using MQ2 and youll be like, how are they so good at this game!?!

that's why it will be max nostalgia. 6 months for each expansion until PoP. You will get 2.5+ years of vanilla/kunark/velious/luclin/pop before anything else comes out. Add in that you can vote to lock the server for another 3 weeks once the time is up....

Im curious, what is the lock for the expansions on Ragefire? I know you are excited about it. Which is cool.

Like is it at least a month in each expansion? the progression server I was on, was purely, when you beat all the bosess, the next expansion opens up. Which resulted in me just be like, this is like the normal server already, I havent even been to Mistmoor yet lol

By my understanding, it will be locked in Classic only for a minimum of six months. Once all end content has been beaten, a vote will be taken (I think once per week?) by all characters above a certain level to determine if Kunark will be unlocked. This process will repeat for Velious (i.e. another six months in Kunark before the option for Velious is given) and Luclin. After that, the process stays the same for each additional expanion but on a 3 month timer instead of 6. In short, minimum 18 months before Luclin can be released.

Now I read that revamped pet damage was bad, but that bad? That is just unplayable. Nearly half of the classes in the game being obsolete for the first year and a half of the server's life is a complete joke. Will people still play those classes? Sure, but does playing a melee class knowing that some guy's automated pixels are doubling your damage while he sits there watching tv sound fun? I'll pass.

Yeah, that's really going to make me not play there. I was considering a rogue or paladin but... why?

I've opted to pick up Tera instead. Fun game and has the added bonus of all of my friends actually wanting to play it rather than me begging them to give it a shot.

That's Velious launch. The Recycled Server shouldn't be expected until at least 1 year from that launch date, once they've patched in all the Velious patches.

So more like... 15 months+.

I guess once they kill Naggy naked, just give the Cloak of Flames to a pet, It will make the best use of it anyways.
