They really should have double EXP events in unused zones and alternate them as time goes on. Not classic? Players clearly don't give a shit as evidenced by this weekend. And if players like it, wheres the downside?
This would be awesome!

If not that at least increase the ZEM in unused zones or zones are are rarely every hunted in. The ZEM as is is not classic. and yeah no one was Q_Qing over double xp not being classic. But they'll jump down ur throat if you suggest anything else that's not classic.

personally I thought I achieved some good leveling goals during the event. But overall i'm glad it is over. the population was too much for me to handle at certain times in certain over used zones.

I did feel the double xp cheapened my levels.

However, it was cool for the game to be full of players at all times in all zones!

At one point we were even considering kedge!

You can always drown yourself a few times to wipe out that cheap extra experience you got.

It would be pretty cool if they did hot spots like Live eventually did. They made certain zones "hot spots" and they had increased exp. They changed what zones these were like every 2 months or something.

The population was nearing perfect levels as far as I'm concerned. Sunday afternoon I saw 1850 on blue at one point- for someone who is more concerned with having the classic experience than handicapping myself through UI features and intentionally re-broken mechanics, a full, vibrant world is super important. I was leveling my druid in nro/oasis/sro for the past couple of days and all the camps were actually being used and Oasis consistently had 40-50 people in it. The large mid-level population is one of the biggest draws on this server for casual scum like me who don't care about fighting over a half dozen raid mobs with 300 other people and it's a lot of what made EQ back in 99-02 great.

it was absolutely magical going to places like Cazic and seeing groups there, whereas usually the only people in the zone are farming cazic gate potions or passing through to fear
