The ranged attack button you have on your bar already accomplishes this purpose (and needs to be there since it can't be bound to a key like melee attack can, iirc).

You should have just said "I like the look of it there" or something instead of acting like you have it there for a real purpose and/or trying to embarrass me because you thought I was ignorant.

I use Q for other binds. Way back in the day I got traumatized by hitting Q? while trying to talk to an NPC and since then has always been one of the first keys I remap. Auto on 1 works fine for me.

q is better bound to be forward and strafe left.

putting melee on a hotbar seems like a wasted slot though :S
